During January 2025, Thinceller delivered the DDC Vim plugin suite to the GaetanLepage/nixpkgs repository, expanding Vim tooling for users managed by Nix. Thinceller implemented end-to-end packaging for three plugins—ddc-source-around, ddc-source-file, and ddc-fuzzy—by creating fetch and build configurations and explicitly declaring dependencies on ddc-vim. This approach ensured reliable installation and seamless integration with existing Nix package management workflows. Leveraging skills in Nix configuration, package management, and Vimscript, Thinceller aligned all changes with established packaging standards, resulting in a maintainable, production-ready addition that improved onboarding and plugin availability for the Nixpkgs Vim user community.
