Worked on the surrealdb/surrealdb repository to address a regression in the handling of set<> types during the Create operation. Focused on backend development using Rust, the work corrected the serialization and semantics by ensuring set<> values are represented as Set literals rather than Arrays. This change aligned the Create operation’s behavior with the intended Set semantics, improving API consistency and data integrity. The approach involved careful analysis of the data model and serialization logic to resolve the bug without introducing new issues. The contribution demonstrated attention to detail in backend systems and a strong understanding of Rust’s type handling.
