During April 2025, Harry0703 developed Kika playlist extraction support for the harry0703/yt-dlp repository, focusing on expanding the tool’s video source coverage. He introduced the KikaPlaylistIE class, which enables end-to-end extraction of video entries from Kika playlists, and integrated it into the main extractor list to ensure seamless operation within the existing architecture. This work leveraged Python for both API integration and web scraping, aligning with yt-dlp’s modular design for maintainability. No major bugs were reported during this period, indicating a stable implementation. The feature enhanced user experience by allowing direct playlist downloads from Kika sources within yt-dlp.
