Worked on the basecamp/omarchy repository to enhance hardware compatibility and user experience by developing a dynamic internal monitor name detection mechanism using bash scripting and Linux system administration skills. This approach replaced the previous hardcoded eDP-1 configuration, allowing the system to adapt to varied hardware setups. The static internal-monitor toggle configuration was removed, streamlining both user experience and ongoing maintenance. Additionally, runtime handling for disabling non-eDP-1 monitors was fixed to align with the omarchy-hyprland pattern, reducing edge-case maintenance. The work focused on simplifying configuration, improving reliability across hardware, and maintaining consistency in monitor management within the project’s codebase.
