Developed and integrated support for the ZTE E8820 device within the coolsnowwolf/immortalwrt repository, focusing on the ath79 target. This work involved creating a dedicated device tree file, updating the build system’s device list, and configuring network interfaces along with MAC address handling to ensure reliable device operation. Leveraging expertise in C, embedded systems, and Linux kernel development, the implementation broadened hardware compatibility and streamlined future device onboarding. The changes enhanced out-of-the-box functionality for both enterprise and consumer deployments, addressing the need for robust networking support and simplifying the process of bringing new hardware into the ImmortalWRT ecosystem.
