Worked on the bazelbuild/bazel repository to enhance OpenBSD build compatibility by updating the default JDK version from 17 to 21, aligning with the latest OpenBSD ports and bootstrapping requirements. This change addressed specific issues related to OpenBSD bootstrapping and JDK compatibility, resulting in smoother CI and build processes for the platform. The implementation preserved existing FreeBSD macro behavior, focusing improvements solely on OpenBSD. The work demonstrated skills in Java development, system programming, and cross-platform patch management, with careful attention to change traceability and platform-specific tooling expectations. No bugs were fixed during this period, with one feature delivered.
