Worked on the scroll-tech/reth repository to deliver support for the ETH69 protocol version within the Ethereum ecosystem. Focused on protocol implementation using Rust, the work involved updating message handling and version parsing to ensure correct behavior across Ethereum wire communications. The implementation specifically disallowed NewBlockHashes and NewBlock messages for ETH69, addressing potential protocol inconsistencies and reducing the risk of fragmentation. Additionally, the PooledTransactionsHashesBuilder was updated to accommodate ETH69, ensuring accurate transaction pool hashing under the new protocol regime. These changes enable interoperability with ETH69 clients and support a smoother upgrade path for Ethereum network participants.
