Developed Bengali (bn_BD) locale support for the faker-js/faker repository, expanding its internationalization and localization features. The work involved creating comprehensive locale data in TypeScript, including accurate month and weekday names for date formatting. Documentation and internal imports were updated to ensure seamless integration of the new locale with existing loading and formatting logic. The implementation was self-contained, requiring no bug fixes, and was delivered as a ready-to-release feature. By leveraging TypeScript and focusing on robust localization practices, this contribution enhanced the library’s ability to serve Bengali-speaking users and improved its global usability for diverse development environments.
