Adel Ksouri enhanced observability in the sched-ext/scx repository by enabling the kernel FUNCTION_TRACER earlier in the LAVD workflow, laying the groundwork for improved futex-call tracing and progress tracking. This work involved updating kernel configuration files to support earlier tracer activation, allowing for more effective diagnostics and root-cause analysis. Adel’s approach focused on kernel configuration management and tracing instrumentation, using Shell scripting to implement release-ready changes. While no bugs were reported or fixed during this period, the feature delivered a deeper tracing foundation, preparing the codebase for future enhancements in performance monitoring and tracing within the Linux kernel environment.
