Worked on stabilizing the macOS experience for the rattleng repository by addressing a persistent reliability issue with launching the R-based application. Focused on improving the application’s first-run experience, the developer updated the checkRInstallation function to use the full absolute path to the R executable, ensuring the app could reliably locate and execute R when launched by double-click. This fix resolved a long-standing edge case related to R path resolution, reducing support requests and smoothing onboarding for macOS users. The work demonstrated skills in macOS development, shell scripting, and Dart, with careful attention to cross-process invocation and incremental debugging.
