Worked on the openfoodfacts/openfoodfacts-webcomponents repository to enhance the reliability and user experience of the ingredient spellcheck feature. Focused on addressing a persistent issue where API failures could cause the loading spinner to persist indefinitely, the developer implemented robust error handling and introduced a dedicated error state within the front end. Using TypeScript, they ensured that the UI now responds gracefully to network and authentication errors during annotation submissions, clearing loading states appropriately and providing clear feedback to users. This work improved the resilience of the spellcheck flow, reducing the risk of deadlocks and enhancing overall application stability and usability.
