Worked on backend enhancements for the Monarca_Backend repository, focusing on foundational improvements to support robust development and testing workflows. Implemented database seeding and environment setup by adding realistic dummy data for core entities such as departments, roles, users, and travel agencies, integrating these changes into the Dockerfile for seamless local development. Led a schema refactor and modular expansion, introducing new travel-related modules including flights, hotel reservations, and vouchers, while updating authentication and request handling logic. Utilized TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL to deliver these features, emphasizing maintainable database design, modular entity management, and efficient API development practices throughout the project.
April 2025: Backend enhancements and data provisioning for Monarca_Backend. Key work included (1) Database seeding and environment setup to enable realistic testing: added dummy data for departments, roles, users, travel agencies, and requests, with Dockerfile updates to include the dummy data file for testing/development; (2) Monarca Backend Overhaul: a major schema refactor and modular expansion introducing flights, hotel reservations, vouchers, user logs, roles and permissions, plus updated authentication and request handling, and changes to DTOs/interfaces. This month set the foundation for RBAC, enhanced travel services, and improved development/testing efficiency.
