Alnis Smidchens worked on improving data quality for the Safari DOM moveBefore API within the mdn/browser-compat-data repository. Focusing on browser compatibility, Alnis identified and documented a specific Safari bug, linking the update to a traceable commit and the relevant implementation issue. This work involved careful API documentation and data management using JSON, ensuring that compatibility data accurately reflected the current state of Safari’s DOM APIs. By enhancing the reliability of this data, Alnis enabled developers to better assess integration risks and conduct more effective cross-browser testing. The contribution addressed a targeted bug and deepened compatibility data coverage.
