Worked on the jitsi/lib-jitsi-meet repository to enhance reliability and correctness in XMPP-based group chat features. Delivered a feature that introduced XEP-0461 namespace validation to the XMPP message parsing logic, ensuring only properly namespaced replies are processed and reducing the risk of misrouted group chat messages. Also addressed a bug by updating the AV_MODERATION_PARTICIPANT_REJECTED event comment to clarify its behavior when rejecting new JIDs, improving moderation semantics. The work involved TypeScript and unit testing, with a focus on front end development and XMPP protocol compliance, resulting in improved interoperability and stability for group chat and moderation workflows.
