Worked on the chef/chef-workstation repository to enhance build security by migrating RPM build digests from SHA-1 to SHA-256. Focused on build systems and RPM packaging, the work involved updating the build configuration to enforce stronger digest algorithms, thereby improving artifact integrity and compliance. Emphasized security throughout the process, ensuring that each artifact could be traced reliably from commit to release. Utilized erb for configuration templating, supporting a more auditable and secure release pipeline. No bugs were addressed during this period, as the primary effort centered on establishing a robust, secure foundation for future development and downstream consumption.
