Worked on the mathworks/arrow repository to address a critical data handling issue in FlightSQL ODBC, focusing on the accurate conversion of negative timestamps to date types for historical data before the Unix epoch. Applied a targeted C++ code patch that corrected the conversion logic and extended the test suite to cover negative timestamp scenarios, ensuring robust regression protection. Leveraged expertise in C++, ODBC, and timestamp conversion to improve data accuracy and reliability for downstream analytics and interoperability. The work emphasized precise bug resolution and comprehensive test coverage, resulting in more dependable handling of pre-epoch dates within the FlightSQL ODBC component.
