During January 2025, Apehum focused on backend development for the SkinsRestorer/SkinsRestorer repository, addressing stability and maintainability rather than adding new features. Working in Java, Apehum resolved a parsing issue in the MineSkin API integration by removing the unused account field from MineSkinUrlResponse, which had caused type inconsistencies between integers and strings. This targeted fix improved API robustness and reduced runtime errors for server operators, ultimately lowering the support burden. The work demonstrated careful attention to minimizing code changes while enhancing reliability, and laid a solid foundation for future feature development by simplifying the API response handling and maintenance process.
