Worked on the nix-community/nixvim repository to expand the Molten plugin’s runtime capabilities by enabling Python kernel support. This was achieved through configuration management using Nix, specifically by adding ipykernel as a dependency, which allows the Molten plugin to execute Python kernels within its environment. The implementation was carefully scoped to the plugin’s path, ensuring clear traceability and ease of review or rollback. This foundational work supports future data-science and automation features in nixvim by integrating Python-based workflows. The contribution focused on infrastructure and dependency management, leveraging skills in Nix and configuration management to enhance plugin extensibility and maintainability.
