Avery Kiihne focused on stabilizing the test automation workflow for the NOAA-GFDL/fre-cli repository by updating the checkout script’s test configuration. Using Python scripting and testing skills, Avery converted platform and target variables to lists, updated the TEST_BUILD_DIR environment variable, and revised assertions and function calls to align with the new configuration structure. This work addressed test setup inconsistencies and improved cross-platform alignment, resulting in more reliable and maintainable continuous integration runs. By reducing flaky test failures and ensuring tests execute consistently with updated configurations, Avery’s contributions laid the groundwork for faster validation of future feature development within the project.
