During February 2025, Axect contributed to the RustPython/RustPython repository by addressing a dependency management issue. They upgraded the puruspe crate from version 0.3.0 to 0.4.0 in the project’s Cargo.toml file, resolving issue #5496 without requiring any changes to the application’s core logic. This targeted update improved build reliability and ensured compatibility with the existing Rust toolchain and dependency graph. Axect’s work focused on safe dependency upgrades using TOML and Rust, demonstrating attention to stability and maintainability. The scope of work was limited to a single bug fix, reflecting a focused and low-risk engineering intervention during the period.
