Worked on the gohugoio/hugo repository to enhance multilingual support for Markdown content by delivering a feature that improves shortcode rendering and language resolution. Focused on backend development using Go, the work involved refining the language resolution path to ensure accurate language fallback and consistent shortcode output across different locales. Automated tests were added to verify correct rendering behavior in multiple languages, increasing test coverage and reducing the risk of localization regressions in future releases. This targeted update addressed a specific issue with multilingual content handling, resulting in more reliable internationalization and improved content accuracy for Hugo’s Markdown processing pipeline.
