During June 2025, Berengar Lehr enhanced the nextcloud/app_api repository by enabling HTTPS support for manual daemon installation, expanding the deployment options beyond the previous HTTP-only limitation. This work involved removing constraints that prevented secure TLS-enabled workflows, allowing administrators to perform manual setups with improved security and flexibility. Berengar approached the task with a focus on backend development, utilizing PHP to handle HTTP and HTTPS protocols and ensuring robust change-tracking through a commit-based workflow. While no major bugs were addressed during this period, the feature delivered a targeted improvement in deployment practices, reflecting a thoughtful and security-conscious engineering approach.
