During August 2025, Bernaliu expanded FP8 quantization test coverage for RMS normalization fused operations in the ROCm/aiter repository. They updated the test framework to accept FP8 data types and validated that the fused RMS normalization path produces correct results with FP8 precision. This work involved enhancing existing tests and introducing new cases to ensure robust verification of FP8 support, directly reducing deployment risk for FP8 inference. Bernaliu’s contributions demonstrated proficiency in CUDA, PyTorch, and quantization, focusing on performance optimization and testing. The depth of the work strengthened test reliability for a critical fused-ops path within the ROCm/aiter codebase.
