Worked on the nginxinc/nginx-gateway-fabric repository to enhance deployment flexibility and resource organization within Kubernetes environments. Developed and integrated support for custom deployment labels in the Helm chart, allowing users to specify labels that are automatically applied to both Deployment and Pod metadata. This approach improves operational efficiency by enabling more granular identification and management of Kubernetes resources. Updated the Helm chart documentation to clearly describe the new nginxGateway.labels parameter, ensuring ease of adoption for users. The work was implemented using Helm and YAML, focusing on maintainability and clarity, and addressed a key feature request without introducing new bug fixes during the period.
