Worked on enhancing the reliability and stability of the Postgres CDC Connector within the apache/seatunnel repository, focusing on backend development using Java and PostgreSQL. Addressed a critical issue in replication slot management by ensuring that replication slots are not redundantly created when slot information already exists, thereby preventing duplicate-slot errors. Improved error handling by validating specific SQLSTATE codes during replication slot operations, which increased the resilience of change data capture workflows. The work involved proactive maintenance and collaboration, laying the groundwork for future improvements to the CDC system and contributing to more stable and maintainable connector behavior overall.
