During May 2025, contributed to the Esri/arcgis-rest-js repository by enhancing HTTP request handling for long URLs. Developed a feature that automatically applies a default maxUrlLength of 2000 characters, ensuring GET requests are converted to POST when no explicit limit is set. This approach improved reliability for API interactions and addressed edge cases that could disrupt client integrations. Comprehensive tests were added to verify the new default behavior and prevent future regressions. The work emphasized code quality and maintainability, utilizing JavaScript and TypeScript for implementation and testing, and aligned with business goals of robust RESTful service development.
