Worked on enhancing networking reliability and scalability in Kubernetes environments, focusing on the rancher/cilium and cilium/cilium repositories. Developed a Helm chart configuration for IPAM multi-pool pre-allocation, enabling more predictable and scalable IP address management while reducing allocation latency and fragmentation. In cilium/cilium, implemented Go-based tests to ensure terminating pods do not propagate BGP routes and refined the BGP manager’s reconciliation logic to consider only active backends, improving routing stability for large clusters. Emphasized test-driven development, clear documentation, and robust backend development practices using Go, Helm, and Kubernetes, delivering features that address operational challenges in cloud-native networking.
