In February 2025, Chris Showalter enhanced the sandbox deployment workflow for the ASFHyP3/hyp3 repository, focusing on consolidating and refining how HyP3 services are deployed in sandbox environments. Using AWS, GitHub Actions, and YAML, Chris updated the deploy-services-sandbox.yml workflow to streamline configuration, improve environment naming, and add manual deployment triggers. The iterative changes reduced misconfigurations and improved reliability, enabling faster and more consistent testing cycles. Through nine targeted commits, Chris prioritized maintainability and documentation, ensuring future onboarding is smoother. The work addressed deployment process gaps rather than bug fixes, demonstrating depth in DevOps automation and continuous integration practices.
