Worked on the openrewrite/rewrite-spring repository to enable the Spring Security 7 upgrade path by migrating the authorization method from check to authorize within the integration layer. This involved updating the core authorization logic, implementing targeted unit tests to validate the new authorize-based flow, and ensuring that all changes maintained compliance with licensing requirements. The work included removing outdated tests to streamline the test suite and reduce maintenance overhead while preserving essential coverage. Leveraged Java and Spring Security throughout the process, focusing on maintainability and future-proofing the codebase for upcoming framework changes without introducing new bugs or regressions.
