Worked on the rclone/rclone repository to deliver granular item-level metadata and derivation control for uploads to the Internet Archive backend. Developed a new command-line interface flag that allows users to specify metadata directly during uploads, enabling more precise organization and processing of content. Implemented an option to control the automatic derivation process, giving users flexibility over how uploaded items are handled. The work was carried out using Go, with a focus on backend development, API integration, and cloud storage integration. The approach emphasized commit-driven changes and CLI-based configuration, resulting in a targeted feature addition over the course of one month.
