Worked on enhancing the reliability and observability of the AffineFoundation/affine API client by focusing on error handling improvements. Addressed a key error reporting issue by implementing structured exceptions for both network and API response errors, which standardized error propagation and improved debuggability across asynchronous workflows. Leveraged Python to introduce robust error handling mechanisms, ensuring that failures were consistently reported and easier to diagnose. Emphasized unit testing to validate the new error handling logic and maintain code quality. These targeted enhancements reduced mean time to resolution for API issues and improved monitoring signals, contributing to a more resilient API development process.
