During August 2025, Dani Banani enhanced the docker/mcp-gateway repository by implementing per-server tool enablement configuration, allowing administrators to control tool exposure on a granular level through server-specific settings with safe defaults. This backend feature, developed in Go, improved both security and customization by enabling or disabling tools per server as needed. Dani also updated the user interface branding, renaming the Gordon client to Ask Gordon for clearer user-facing identity and consistency. The work demonstrated strong skills in API development, backend development, and configuration management, with clean, maintainable commits that support scalable governance and an improved user experience.
