Worked on the freeCodeCamp/freeCodeCamp repository to deliver a feature focused on upgrading internal curriculum helpers and refactoring import paths for improved maintainability. The approach centered on disciplined dependency management, using Node.js and TypeScript to update curriculum-helpers to versions 8.0.0 and 9.0.0, and restructuring the Python worker’s format_exception import into a dedicated module. Upgrades to build tooling and linters, including Gatsby, ESLint, and Babel, ensured compatibility with the evolving codebase. Emphasis was placed on maintaining CI/CD stability and code cleanliness, supporting future feature development while reducing technical debt and minimizing risk from dependency changes. No bugs were addressed.
