Bas Ernst Genova delivered comprehensive Dutch localization across multiple elementary OS repositories, including AppCenter, Code, Files, Music, Dock, Granite, Greeter, and Gala, over a two-month period. Working primarily with Vala and PO files, Bas utilized Weblate to achieve 100% translation coverage for user-facing strings, enhancing accessibility for Dutch-speaking users. The work involved translating UI components, metadata, and plugin interfaces, ensuring consistency and completeness across each project. By focusing on internationalization and localization best practices, Bas improved the usability of these applications for a broader audience, demonstrating depth in software internationalization and collaborative translation workflows within open source environments.
