In April 2025, Ethan Conner focused on enhancing the reliability and security of the Linkry feature within the acm-uiuc/core repository. He improved the Linkry test suite by adding new unit tests and refining existing ones, which expanded automated coverage and enabled faster detection of issues. Using JavaScript and TypeScript, Ethan addressed a bug in the API route to better handle unauthorized access, introducing clearer error messaging and strengthening access controls. His backend development work, leveraging Node.js and AWS DynamoDB, reduced production risk and regression, resulting in a more robust system with improved observability and safer, more efficient releases.
