Worked on the gitkraken/vscode-gitlens repository to deliver a new feature that enhances file path accuracy during Git operations. Developed a configurable realpath option using TypeScript, allowing the application to resolve symbolic links when determining file paths. This addition supports per-repository customization, integrating seamlessly with the existing configuration framework and improving reliability in file handling across diverse workflows. Focused on Git internals and configuration design, the work addressed path-related inconsistencies and reduced potential diffs caused by symlinks. Demonstrated full stack development skills by ensuring the feature’s compatibility and robustness without introducing new bugs during the implementation period.
