In November 2024, Fosten developed an automated frontend add-on name generation feature for the plone/cookieplone-templates repository. Using Python and Jinja2 templating, Fosten engineered a solution that derives the frontend_addon_name directly from the project title, streamlining the process of naming frontend add-ons in cookiecutter templates. This automation reduced manual intervention and minimized the risk of naming inconsistencies, supporting faster template provisioning and lowering ongoing maintenance costs. The work was delivered as a single, focused feature without introducing regressions or new bugs. Fosten’s contribution demonstrated a targeted approach to template automation, emphasizing reliability and maintainability within the project’s workflow.
