Worked on the kunai-consulting/qwik-design-system repository to enhance the Accessible Menu Component, focusing on accessibility and semantic correctness. The approach involved removing the 'position' prop to streamline the component’s API, introducing context-based roles for checkbox and radio menu items, and refactoring the menu content positioning logic along with related CSS. These changes improved ARIA semantics, keyboard navigation, and screen reader support, aligning the component with broader design system standards. The work was implemented using TypeScript and CSS, emphasizing accessibility and UI/UX best practices. No major bugs were addressed, as the primary focus was on feature refinement and standardization.
