During January 2025, Dala focused on stabilizing CAN message handling within the dalathegreat/Battery-Emulator repository, specifically targeting the Volvo SPA battery system. By addressing a bug in CAN frame tuning, Dala ensured that VOLVO_140_CLOSE and VOLVO_140_OPEN messages triggered correct contactor operation, directly improving system reliability. The work involved careful updates to C++ code, leveraging expertise in embedded systems and CAN Bus protocols to minimize risk while enhancing message fidelity. Although no new features were added, Dala’s targeted maintenance laid a solid foundation for future CAN-based validations, demonstrating a methodical approach to code quality and system robustness.
