During November 2024, theawesomebug99 developed and integrated a post engagement metric system across the brockenbrough/ssu-social-frontend and brockenbrough/ssu-social-backend repositories. They implemented a Post View Count System on the frontend using React and JavaScript, introducing a dedicated component and robust fetch/increment logic with improved error handling. On the backend, they extended Express.js APIs to track unique post views, updating routes and tests to ensure accurate analytics. Additionally, they refined the password input experience by synchronizing icon states with visibility. This work enhanced data-driven decision-making and UI resiliency, demonstrating depth in API integration, state management, and cross-repository consistency.
