Worked on the espoon-voltti/luontotieto repository to extend the Ecology Data Model, focusing on enabling richer ecological data capture and supporting Natura classifications. Delivered a new habitat enumeration for liito-orava’s reproductive and resting sites, and introduced additional database columns to store Natura-related classifications, enhancing the system’s ability to support advanced analytics and regulatory reporting. All changes were implemented using Kotlin and SQL, with careful attention to database design and management best practices. The work was version-controlled with explicit commits for traceability, aligning with the project’s data-model modernization roadmap and improving the quality and granularity of ecological data.
