Worked on the huggingface/xet-core repository to improve the reliability of the CAS server’s DNS resolution. Addressed a recurring issue where DNS lookups would incorrectly fall back to local search domains, leading to address resolution failures in various deployment environments. Developed and integrated a custom DNS resolver in Rust that enforces absolute DNS lookups, ensuring consistent and predictable behavior across different systems. This solution focused on enhancing uptime and reliability for authentication services dependent on the CAS server. The work demonstrated strong skills in networking, system programming, and Rust, with an emphasis on robust, cross-environment infrastructure improvements rather than feature development.
