Worked on enhancing reliability and observability in the apache/pekko repository by introducing two new signals, JournalPersistFailed and JournalPersistRejected, to improve reporting of journal persistence failures and rejections. Integrated these signals into the Running actor logic using Scala and Java, ensuring that failure scenarios are now more visible within the actor model framework. Developed comprehensive end-to-end tests to validate the correct emission of these signals, supporting better incident response and laying the foundation for future retry and alert strategies. This targeted feature work focused on backend development and testing, aligning with ongoing goals for system stability and operational transparency.
