Addressed packaging migration by moving the sickle package from bioconda to conda-forge, streamlining distribution and dependency management. Improved the kraken-ocr build process by updating YAML configuration to skip Windows-64 builds when coremltools is unavailable and resolving linter issues in meta.yaml. Utilized Python and YAML to enhance build systems, reduce failures, and clarify future migration paths. The work contributed to smoother release cycles, improved collaboration, and more robust package management practices within the Python packaging ecosystem.
