During November 2024, work focused on delivering an end-to-end upgrade of Telegram Desktop to version 5.7.1 within the winterheart/gentoo repository. This involved creating a new ebuild for the updated application, updating the Manifest, and managing dependencies by bumping dev-cpp/ms-gsl to 4.1.0. The approach emphasized reliable Gentoo packaging practices, ensuring users could seamlessly upgrade while maintaining build integrity. Utilizing C++ and Shell scripting, the developer demonstrated skills in build systems, package management, and system administration. No user-facing bugs were addressed, as the primary goal was to enhance upgrade readiness and maintain repository hygiene through careful package updates.
