Worked on improving the reliability of configuration management for the grafana/beyla repository, focusing on the correctness of YAML-based instrumentation setup. Addressed a critical bug in the YAML configuration parsing logic, which previously caused misconfiguration errors and runtime failures in production environments. By correcting the syntax for the instrumentations list, ensured that new and existing instrumentation configurations could be onboarded smoothly without parsing issues. This work involved deep familiarity with YAML and configuration management principles, resulting in a more stable instrumentation pipeline. No new features were introduced during this period, with efforts concentrated on enhancing stability and reducing onboarding friction.
