Worked on the City-of-Helsinki/kukkuu repository to enhance observability by implementing structured JSON logging for the uWSGI server. Focused on updating the Dockerfile to include necessary configurations and dependencies, this work enabled the generation of structured logs compatible with common logging backends such as ELK and Splunk. Leveraging skills in containerization, DevOps, and Docker, the changes improved both deployment and developer experience by ensuring consistent log formatting across environments. This feature laid the foundation for more effective log analysis, streamlined incident investigation, and improved operational metrics, addressing the need for better monitoring and root-cause analysis within the deployment pipeline.
