During April 2025, Kieffer focused on stabilizing the GUI Widgets module in the silx-kit/silx repository by addressing a critical packaging issue. He corrected the build and installation process to ensure overlay-related widgets and a mixin class were properly included, resolving a bug that previously prevented their deployment. Using Meson for build system configuration and Python for packaging, Kieffer’s work improved the reliability of the installation process and enabled downstream applications to utilize the new overlay features as intended. This targeted fix reduced the risk of post-release support issues and enhanced the overall user experience for the silx GUI widgets module.
