Worked on security hardening and reliability improvements in the geerlingguy/linux repository, focusing on the USB gadget configfs subsystem. Addressed a security vulnerability by implementing a zero-length input validation check in C, preventing out-of-bounds reads when handling string data for qw_sign and landingPage attributes. Enhanced robustness by ensuring empty string writes are managed gracefully, thereby avoiding undefined behavior in embedded systems. The patch was developed and validated according to kernel development standards, including unit sanity checks and a clear, focused review process. This work demonstrated expertise in kernel development and security vulnerability fixes, contributing to safer and more reliable system operation.
