Contributed to the MichaIng/DietPi repository by implementing an editor configuration enhancement across DietPi scripts. This work involved replacing hardcoded references to nano with the sensible-editor wrapper, allowing the system to respect user and system-wide editor preferences. By centralizing editor handling, the update improved usability and consistency for users interacting with DietPi’s automation tasks. The approach reduced future maintenance by eliminating ad-hoc editor references and streamlined onboarding for new users. The feature was developed using Shell scripting and system administration skills, focusing on maintainable code and alignment with ongoing efforts to enhance configurability within the DietPi project’s scripting environment.
